We've all been there: you pull a fitted sheet out of the cupboard, shake it open, lay it on the mattress… and realise halfway through that it needs to be rotated 90 degrees. Back to the start. Especially with larger sizes like 180x200 or 200x220 cm, that's genuinely frustrating — re-orienting a fitted sheet on a half-made bed isn't anyone's idea of a good time.
At Boomba, we solved that with two discreet labels sewn into every fitted sheet. One on the long side, one on the short side. No long instructions — just Long Side and Short Side, so one look tells you exactly how the sheet fits the mattress.
Why this small detail matters
Fitted sheets are usually rectangular, and with the most common sizes (140x200, 160x200, 180x200, 200x220 cm — see our full bedding size guide) the difference between long and short side isn't always obvious. Especially not when the sheet has just come out of the washing machine or the packaging and is still folded.
The two labels mean:
- You make the bed right the first time
- No time lost turning and trying again
- The sheet doesn't get unnecessarily stretched by being placed wrong
Attention to the small things
It's a small detail, but it says something about how we think about our products. The fabric, the finishing, the certifications (OEKO-TEX, ECOCERT, Organic 100) — and the labels you only really notice for a second each time you change the bed. It's in those small moments that you can tell someone has thought it through.
Our 400TC Premium and 300TC Basic bamboo fitted sheets come with these labels as standard, in all sizes from 80x200 to 200x220 cm, across the full colour range.
