Description

Why this children's summer duvet?

  • 100% organic bamboo — fill and cover, nothing synthetic against your child's skin
  • Lightweight summer weight — for warm bedrooms and summer nights
  • Hypoallergenic & dust-mite resistant: a good choice for children with eczema, asthma or seasonal allergies
  • Moisture-wicking: children sweat more than adults — bamboo moves it away fast
  • Free of pesticides and harmful chemicals — ECOCERT and OEKO-TEX® certified
  • Size 70x100 — cot, toddler bed or first single bed

Made for sensitive skin

Children's skin is thinner, more permeable and more reactive than adult skin. That makes fabric choice more important, not less. Bamboo is naturally smooth (less friction), hypoallergenic and grown organically — verified by ECOCERT. No chemical treatments, no fire-retardant sprays, no surprises. If your child has hay fever, see our article on hay fever and sleep.

Made consciously

Bamboo is one of the most sustainable fibres available. It grows up to a metre per day without pesticides, fertilisers or irrigation, and produces 35% more oxygen than the same area of trees. Our bamboo is grown organically and processed under ECOCERT and OEKO-TEX® standards.

Care instructions

Spot-clean with a damp cloth when needed. A full wash isn't usually necessary — bamboo's antibacterial properties keep the fill fresh between airings. If a full wash is needed, use a 30°C delicate cycle in a large machine (8 kg+) with a mild liquid detergent, no softener, no bleach. Dry thoroughly before storing. For seasonal storage, use a breathable cotton bag, not plastic.

Frequently asked questions

How much water does bamboo save versus cotton?

Bamboo needs about a third less water than cotton – some studies show up to 90% water savings. Bamboo also grows without artificial irrigation and pesticides. A significant contribution to global water conservation.

Does bamboo prevent mould in textiles?

Yes, bamboo has natural antimicrobial properties that inhibit mould. Combined with fast moisture wicking this delivers a hygienic sleep climate – even in damp rooms or climates.

How do I store bamboo bedding optimally?

Store your bamboo bedding in a dry, airy spot – ideally in a fabric bag or breathable box. Avoid plastic bags as they trap moisture. This keeps your bedding fresh and mould-free.

How long does bamboo bedding stay fresh?

Thanks to the antibacterial properties, bamboo bedding stays fresh longer than cotton. Typically you can use bamboo bedding for 2 weeks before it needs washing – pillowcases should be changed more often.

How quickly does bamboo bedding dry?

Bamboo fibres absorb a lot of moisture but also release it quickly. Air-drying typically takes 4–6 hours with good ventilation – considerably faster in a low-temperature tumble dryer.

What should I keep in mind with hard water?

With hard water we recommend using slightly less detergent and occasionally adding a splash of vinegar (in the softener compartment). This reduces limescale that could harden fibres. A water softener is also a good alternative.

How do I remove stains from bamboo bedding?

Treat fresh stains immediately with cold water and a mild stain remover. Avoid chlorine bleach – this damages the bamboo fibres. For stubborn stains a gall soap helps. Then wash as usual.
